What are the required MARKS to clear the exam ( general category) ?

To be qualified for admission processes you must get 50th percentile and the score will depend on the level of competition (usually in 300s). However, let me notify you that simply qualifyong NEET doesn't guarantee you admission into a college. Looking at last year's trend a score above 530 should get you a government seat.

There is nothing called passing marks in NEET Exam. In NEET, it is qualifying marks rather which is 50th percentile for general category and 40th percentile for reserved categories. Try to score 500+. Then you'll definitely get a good medical college.
If you want to score good marks in NEET then just follow simple steps -
Clear your basic concepts.
Be thorough with NCERT textbook. Its a must.
Solve previous year question papers.
Take mock tests to assess your progress.
Solve questions from any reference book you prefer for competitive exams
Solve as much as numerical possible.

Going by current trends, to get a government medical seat through all India quota, try to score around 570-580 for general category.

The minimum marks required for qualfying neet ug under general category is 50 percentile..
However if you wish to get a good govt. medical college mbbs seat through all india quota counselling ,,try to have score of 540+ marks in neet ug exam..

You need to be in top 50% of total candidates to qualify NEET. That is 50th percentile. (Not percentage). However this is only a qualifying cutoff. Cut-off scores for seats are quite high.
For best colleges, a score of around 580 is good for all India 15% quota and around 550 is good for state quota.

It all depends on the percentile, the performance of your co students . 50percentile to clear the exam .. but you need to score above 550 to be confident on getting a seat. All the best !

Himanshu, you need 50 percentile marks for qualifying the NEET exam. You may or may not get a seat in 50 percentile. But you'll qualify.

The trends in the cut off scores have been changing significantly every year. Last year students belonging to GENERAL CATEGORY had to score around 570 to secure a seat through the All India 15 %quota. This year the cut off scores might go higher or even drop down. That'll depend on the level of difficulty of the question paper and how many students end up performing well in the final examination.
Nonetheless, target a score of around 570 to be on the safe side.

to qualify it is just 50 th percentile but in order to score a good rank and college have a target of abouve 550
