What is different between rank and Mark in neet ug?still am confuse!

The maximum marks allocated to the NEET-UG question paper is 720. Whatever you score out of 720 are your marks.
Now, a merit list is prepared based on your marks, where you stand amongst the various candidates who have appeared for NEET-UG examination along with you is your rank.

Marks is what you score. Total marks are 720. 1 question is of 4 marks and there are a total of 180 questions. There is negative marking also. 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Suppose you answered 150 questions and out of that 100 answers were correct. You would get

(100 X 4)-50=350

Now the marks of every candidate will be compared and on the basis of that you will get a rank in a chronological order.

Suppose there were a total of 3 students including you. One of them scored 400 and another one scored 300 and you have scored 350.
So your rank will be 2nd.

In NEET UG,

• Mark is what you score in the paper. For example, you get 480 out of 720 (maximum marks). 480 is your mark.
• Rank is your placement among other students. For example, say the student has got the highest mark of 680/720. So his rank is 1, mark is 680.

It's simple. Mark is what u get out of 720. Like 480 or 600. Rank is in the order of highest marks scored. For instance 650 is the highest marks , it's first rank..

Mark and rank are inversily propertional you get high mark your rank will less.and seat will distribute according to ranks so try scoring less rank by scoring high mark.
