MHA stands for Master of Hospital Administration. It is post graduate course for 2 years. Hospital administration is the professional domain which is associated with the management, administration, leadership involved in hospitals, healthcare systems and hospital networks. A masters in hospital administration, therefore it essentially leads to a managerial role in healthcare. A postgraduate qualification in hospital administration is offered primarily as an MS in hospital administration, an MHA or an MBA degree. In order to be eligible to any of the top programs for a masters in hospital administration, students are required to have completed a three or four year bachelor’s degree. Most universities which offer a masters in hospital administration in USA require a 4 year bachelor’s qualification. The undergraduate qualification should ideally be in a related domain i.e. a bachelor’s qualification in science or a bachelor’s qualification in administration.
