College is Pretty Decent. There is a newly constructed Academic Block but the size of Auditorium is not sufficient. Lecture halls are quite large. The College has all the necessary laboratories as well as a library and a book bank. In term of sport the College has an seperate athletic ground, cricket ground football ground, tennis court, vollyball court, basketball court etc. Hostel also have a nice infrastructure. Each hostel has table tennis room, pool table and a Vollyball court.
I am currently Studying B.Tech in Mechanical engineering. The quality of teachers are good but they are like any other government college. They help you if ask them for help. Core subjects teachers are above expectations. The course curriculum is updated and new Director is doing every possible thing to make it more productive.
One of the main positive aspects of college being in Chandigarh is Companies come here for placement and Internship opportunities. The placement percentage is above than 90%. The highest package offered was around 65lac to an Electronic and Communication Engineering Student. The average salary of institution is around 10lac. The College is very supportive in placement. It has a dedicated CGDC department dedicated for placement training.
The course fee the Year 2019-2020 was around Rs. 75,000/semester and + hostel fee of about Rs.69,000/yr. The fees is quite high as compared to other government college and NITs.
Campus Life is pretty awesome in PEC. If you are a Hosteller you will enjoy your College Life to the fullest. There are various technical and cultural societies operating in college which give an opportunity to participate in their functioning after the college ends at 5 p.m. The best of College is it is Chandigarh and you always get a chance to explore a wonderful city like it.
The College is Decent and the rumours of it getting and IIT status are all wrong. The new Director, his in speech has clearly dusted off all this rumours and he hopes of getting the college under NIT act.
Infrastructure is good. There are AC smart classrooms but some lecture halls still need installation of ACs and projectors. The entire campus is wifi enabled. Living space is clean but the food quality needs to improve.
I am pursuing B.E. in Mechanical Engineering. The quality of teaching is as good as any other college in the country, the curriculum however needs to be updated and it does require better developments.
Placement stats have been average for mechanical. However, the college provides ample of opportunities to learn different things and get a view of the competitive world that lies ahead. The placement process is easy.
The infrastructure is being maintained properly. Classrooms are maintained, hygienic is taken care of, new labs are coming up, each dept is being revamped, students grievance are heard properly.......
The academics are up to date. The teachers are really helpful, the course curriculum is regularly revised so as to be up to date with the new tech, the projects and assignments are also beneficial including the exams.
The placement cell works very hard for placement of students. The companies are called , sessions are held trainings are taken care of, the system of 3rd year 6 months training is really helpful and ever ready guidance available.
The college knows the value for money really well
It has been an enriching journey
Campus of PEC is better than the campuses of a lot many colleges in India. Trust me other than the reviews about the placement and the facilities at this college, campus was one of the reasons for me to take up the college. You get access to all basic facilities such as hostels, markets, wifi, library. Moreover new academic blocks are also coming which are far more better in terms of the infrastructure and facilities.
Honestly this is the area where our college lacks a bit. The faculty is extremely experienced and a lot knowledgeable but they are not well equipped with technologies such as online classrooms etc. The best part is whatever we are taught, it lands us somewhere or the other and we definitely get a job. The curriculum as of now is not fully updated but yes they are changing it bit by bit.
I will say if placement is sole motive at the end of the day and you haven't been able to get an IIT or a NIT, then trust me this is your place. All the companies you think of Microsoft, J.P Morgan, Goldmann Sachs and what not. Packages are high too and average packages also range from 8-14 lakhs for all the branches inclusive.
Value for money is something i am not sure of. The college is equipped with everything you want or need but i guess things like night sports or good food in mess is not a thing they do here. Moreover, considering that the teaching methods are still conventional, i would say improvements are required.
Infrastructure is the only area in which this college is lacking. Specially the hostel and the main campus building. The cse and ece department has better infra but in my opinion not up to the standards. Overall infra needs to be improved.
Academics is one area in which this college is considered good. Not the best not the worst but certainly upto the standards of good colleges. I joined this college due the the studies and placements only.
Placements in this college are very good. Alot of companies come here with good placement offers. This college will give you plenty of opportunities to grab a good placement with higher pays, provided you do well in you studies and skills.
This is one of those colleges which gives you the best value for money. Per year it costs me like 1.5 lac excluding the hostel expenses. I see value for money as if college can provide me a good placement and education with low fees and this college certainly does.
Campus life is something which every student will create by their own experience and it also depends on individual itself.
If infrastructure and faculty is to be improves, this college will be one of the best college after IITs to get your btech degree from.
The required equipments are present, but either are outdated or in less quantity. The classrooms are also outdated to some extent. Overall, it would seem a good enough infra but once you learn, it is not that good.
The students here are a mixedbag to be honest, and have a lot of calibre. But the problem arises because of the incompetence and lack of motivation by the teachers themselves, which makes the college bad.
A few branches boast of good packages and a few will tell you its pathetic. The thing is the ratio of students getting reasonable packages, which is very low to be honest. The things are ameliorating to some extent tho.
The value might be two fold here. If you ask if you are getting the expected level of education, then no. If you ask if the students get good amount of exposure then you are in the right place because of the reputation atleast.
The college is to be honest not what it seems on paper. This makes it difficult for the Student to adjust in the first place. But the campus life is the best thing the institute has to offer, which makes it quite good.
The new building is good but the older buildings lacks proper infrastructure. Many old labs have not been upgraded and equipments don't work properly. Same can can said for smart board, there are no smart boards in the older departments.
The teaching quality is not good. Most of the teachers just mug up and write on the board. There has been a change in a few courses offered which has made the situation better but mostly students are on their own for studying.
The placement scenario is quite good. Lot of Dream and Super Dream companies visit the campus for internships as well as placements. Average salary offered is around 10 Lpa and highest I think is around 40 low offered by Microsoft.
Since it is a government institute, the fees is not that high as compared to other institutes. As far as value for money is concerned, teaching quality is not that good but if we get a good placement in the end it will all be worth it.
Campus life is one thing that makes going to college worth it. There are a lot of clubs and societies which offer various activities and hence there is a lot to learn. The location i.e Chandigarh is also a huge plus point.
All the departments are old except for CSE and ECE. The projectors stop working and in summers it is very difficult to sit is lecture halls as there is no AC. Wi-Fi is available, but the connection is not very good is some areas where it is required.
Teachers try very hard to teach but it is not helpful at all as the teaching way is outdated. Being focused on attendance instead of imparting knowledge is preferred here. It is not that I don't like attending lectures, but if you don't understand the lectures itself; What is the point of attending them?
I don't know the specifics, but the placements are above average for our college students. There is a separate body in the college which manages the placement workshops as well as inviting various companies to recruit the graduates from collge.
When you are spending 70k Rs per semester, not getting taught properly and instead being focused on the attendance criterea...I think spending this much money on engineering in this college is not worth.
Best thing about the college is the lifestyle in college itself. No need to say that about a particular college, but all colleges in general.
the infrastructure of the college is excellent almost every necessry facility and equipments are available within the campus all the laboratories are upgraded libraries have the updated curriculum books available and they all are used and maintained well all the living spaces are clean and the food is hygienic
currently i am studying be electrical engienring the quality of teaching is also very excellent here all the teacgers are having excellent teaching quality with some extra ordinary speaking and listning skills the curriculum is also uodated and it includes all the recent developments in the field the content i am studying here makes me job ready
the quality of placements at this colledge is also up to the mark here almost 90% of students get placed at the end of every session and the highest salary offered was 25 lakh oer annum goes to the student of BE the average salary offered is 12-14 lakh rs per annum the placement process is also very easy and pleasent and the college is also very supportive
for BE it almost cost me rs 60k a year the environmwnt of the campus is amazing and joyfull quality of classes and teachers are also very excellent all the students and staff are so supportive this things make me feel that i am getting my money's worth here
the campus life of this college is amazing almost every students dream of getting this campus life the studemts can take part of every extra curriculam activities al the students teachers and support staff are so kind and supportive the location is safe and it can handle all the emergencies
We have all the basic facilities required for the completion of the degree. However the infrastructure in terms of maintaining those facilities is average and needs to be looked upon. We have all campus WiFi availability. The campus is clean with dustbins at regular intervals
I am studying mechanical engineering because I have interest in the same. The curriculum however isn’t that up to date and must be revised according to more practical applications that are now more prevelaar in the industry
The placement cell of the college is good and consists of good companies approaching on campus. Usually everyone is placed on campus and gets a job through campus placements. The placement cell is also very cooperative and performs its task with perfection.

Hi
This is difficult to make prediction as cutoff depends upon various factors like :-
-----------) number of students/ candidates that appeared in the jee main exam,
-----------) number of available seats,
-----------) performance of different students in the examination,
-----------) the branch you want,
-----------) the category you belong
