PEC has the best infrastructure among all the engineering colleges in Punjab and Chandigarh. Each engineering branch has got its own full building which consists of vast workshops, labs and lecture halls. All the lecture halls are equipped with smart classroom boards and mobile signal jammers so that students cannot use mobile phones while sitting in the lecture hall.
The academic structure is good but the syllabus is a bit outdated. Professors are very knowledgeable but are not so willing to teach students. Professors do not know about the current technological requirements. The study does not make students job ready.
Placements are good in PEC. Students pursuing B.E. Computer Science and B.E. Electronics and Communication get placed easily but students of other branches face some problems. The placement packages of the top branches are good. Average placement package in CSE is 8 lakh and it goes as high as 40 lakh.
The fee is high compared to other government engineering colleges in the country. The fee for my course is approximately 2 lakh per year.
Campus life is really good. One gets the best of Chandigarh life in PEC. The annual fest called 'Pecfest' is one of the most famous fests in the North India. A lot of extracurricular activities and competitions are organized regularly in the campus.
PEC is one of the best engineering institutes in the country.
It has got many things for the students but I guess hostels are the main part where it can improve drastically in all the terms and for the rest of the things, it's on the right track for the betterment of the those things, fornew workshops were studentthis year to help manufacturing students understand things better and it can also look for benches in old lecture halls and tutorial rooms.
Curriculum is really lagging behind specifically in non circuital branches (aerospace lost its accreditation by NBA too), there we are just cramming old things without learning the implementation and also what's going on currently. Only few teachers are their who help us in this matter otherwise we have to depend on outside sources for that for becoming job ready.
Placement of my college is really good and is increasing with each year, especially of circuital branches. Now production and metallurgical branches are also coming at par with other non circuital branches..
I thing I am only getting back half of what I am giving to the college. It can be said because although there is enough space for study but we don't have enough permitted area for our cultural club activities, as auditorium is small, we can't practice dance at good volume, we have to stick to small volume and if we want to practice in good volume, then we need to practice with sun over our heads, also during rainy season, it's very difficult for us to practice properly
I guess it's the best that u can get, lovely student support is here, our seniors are like like our brothers/sisters and for 1st year, 4th year is like a parent, there's is so much love and support, teachers are in mixed ratio in terms of supporting, some are very supportive while some show us dead eyes an don't listen to the reason at all but it's preety much case with every institution, so no such problem there as u learn to deal with it when u r with ur seniors.
In overall I would say that u all face problems in every sphere of life and problems are not always the same, it's always of different kind and I guess all we can do is to deal with it and grow further in our lives. I have nearly done my 2 years here and I guess this college is strengthening me for every possible hurdle that I can face in my future so definitely I got no regrets being here.
The campus is spread over sector 12 in the main Chandigarh area. Most of the area of the campus is covered with vast grounds and some is empty. The infrastructure of the campus is awesome. The infrastructure is similar to the standard of that of the IITs. The auditorium is the best among the colleges in Chandigarh. One cannot expect a better engineering college campus than PEC.
The syllabus is kept up to the date according to the industry requirements. Teachers are helpful and the administrative authorities are very serious about studies. The quality of teaching is very good.
The placements are very good in PEC. Good companies like Google, Amazon, etc. come to the campus for placements. The placement ratio for every branch is really good. The highest package goes as high as 40 lakh and the average package is usually around 8 lakhs.
The fee is relatively high as compared to the fee of other engineering colleges. The fee is about Rs 90,000 per semester and including other expenditures, the fee becomes around Rs two lakhs per year. But nonetheless, the facilities provided are very good as compared to the fee charged.
A lot of extracurricular activities are organised in the campus every year. PEC's annual fest, known as PECFEST is famous all over the Punjab. Campus life is really enjoyable.
If you want to opt for engineering, just come here. PEC is really great.
Infrastructure is quite old and needs to be rebuilt. The NAB is good but som buildings are too old to be studies in. Hostels are really pathetic. Rooms are so small but the quality of food that the mess delivers isn't bad.
The Academics if talking on the overall basis is actually average. Some teachers teach good while some teachers teach very bad. The books in the library are not available many a times. The faculty needs to be worked on and some other changes are also necessary
I haven't got an exposure to the placement but as much as I've heard it from my friends and seniors, they have quite a mixed review. Som say placements are good even in metallurgy which is usually the rank closing branch of the college and some say jobs aren't available for a very popular branch like ECE.
college infra needs improvements . Its improving day by day but still more improvement is required.Hostels should be improved and gymnasium also needs a lot of improvement.Labs needs new equipments .More budget should be allocated to infra
Academic curriculum is great. IIT's syllabus is being followed.Practicals are of good weightage .nice teachers.great study environment.Still lots of things can be improved .Marking scheme is good.Great professors
Placements is the biggest positive factor of this college. Its becoming good day by day.Lots of core and non core comapnies visiting campus for both internship nd full time.Average package is increasing every year.
Fee structure is not so expensive.Cost of living is also cheap . and considering good placements in mind , ROI is great .Expenditure varies student to student .Many scholarships are also available for poor people
Chandigarh life rocks . Lots of events happen in college time to time.Campus life is great. Pecfest helds ecery year which is one of the biggest fest of north india.Crowd is very good.Lots of events happens
overall one can consider pec to be one of the best enginnering college in india and no doubt it is. It have the potential to become iit.It is still above many iits and nits.Everthing is great.U will enjoy 4 years of life here

Hi
This is difficult to make prediction as cutoff depends upon various factors like :-
-----------) number of students/ candidates that appeared in the jee main exam,
-----------) number of available seats,
-----------) performance of different students in the examination,
-----------) the branch you want,
-----------) the category you belong
