Admission in Jamia Milia Islamia is through a combined admission test Conducted by the University Evey Year.
Eligibility Criteria
Senior Secondary School Certificate or an equivalent examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate of English and three Subjects from amongst Accountancy, Arabic, Banking, Biology, Biotechnology, Business Organization, Business Studies, Chemistry, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Education, English, Fine Arts, Geography, Hindi, History, Home Science, Islamic Studies, Mathematics, Persian, Philosophy, Physical Health Education, Physics, Political Science/Civics, Psychology, Sanskrit, Sociology, Statistics, Urdu and Modern Indian Languages (Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi and Kashmiri).
OR
Degree/Sanad from recognized Madarsa/Institution with at least 50% marks (as given in Table IX).
OR
Bridge Course (for Graduates of Deeni Madaris) from AMU with at least 50% marks.
Note: Candidates shall be eligible for admission to B.A.(Hons.) with Arabic as Main Subject only if they have studied the language at the SSSC level.
(i) Bachelor’s Degree with not less than 50% marks (except B.A./B.Sc. vocation courses). OR
(ii) Bachelor’s Degree with not less than 45% marks except B.A./ B.Sc. (vocational) courses AND at least 50% marks in Master’s Degree Examination in any School teaching subject.
Applicants for the teaching of Commerce must possess a Master’s Degree in Commerce with at least 50% marks.
A candidate must have passed at least two teaching subjects up to graduation/ post graduation level. However, a compulsory subject likes General Urdu/General English/ Compulsory Hindi will not be accepted as teaching subjects. Subjects such as Mathematical Physics, Electronics, Biotechnology etc. will not be considered as a teaching subject. However, if a teaching subject which has been studied at graduation level for two or more years and its marks had been counted in awarding the division, maybe opted as a teaching subject.
Candidates who have passed the following examinations are NOT ELIGIBLE:
(i) B.Com.(Hons.), B.Com.(Pass),B.A.(Hons./Pass)in Commerce, B.A./B.Sc.(Pass/Hons.) in vocational subjects;
(ii) B.A. Examination in one language only, after completing an examination conducted by Language Education institutions (e.g. Sahitya Rattan, Adlib-e-Kamil etc.);
(iii) M.Sc.(Biochemistry), M.Sc.(Biophysics), M.Sc.(EnvironmentalBotany/Science),etc.Such candidates may apply on the basis of their graduation qualification if the same is as per the eligibility conditions.
