The selection is made on the basis of State Level Combined Entrance Examination conducted jointly by GBTU, Lucknow and MTU, Noida usually conducted in April. Qualified candidates can take admission in the institute based on their rank via Combined Counselling.

Admissions to B.Tech. programs are based on scores obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains), conducted by the National Testing Agency.

Lateral entry into the 2nd year (10% of total intake) is allowed through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG).

For admission to first year of B. Tech. candidate must have clearly passed without grace, intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST Category candidates) without grace in required subject combination of two compulsory subjects and one optional subject as prescribed by GBTU Lucknow and MTU Noida.

For Lateral Entry (LEET) - Eligible Diploma Holders (Engineering stream) and B. Sc. Graduates can get admission in second year on limited seats permitted by University via State Level combined entrance and counselling conducted jointly by GBTU, Lucknow and MTU, Noida.

A Candidate who has passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and shall be eligible for the course.
