As per AP State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) norms, 70% of students of UG and PG programs are admitted through centralized admissions organized by the Government (EAMCET for UG and GATE/PGECET for M.Tech). The remaining 30% of students (B-category, i.e. Management/NRI) are admitted by the institution. Advertisement is given by the institution in popular regional newspapers calling for applications for B-category seats. Merit list is prepared from the applications received, and placed on the notice boards. 20% of the seats for lateral entry admissions for diploma holders into the second year are made by the convener, E-CET.

The seats shall be filled either based on rank obtained in EAMCET or on securing not less than 50% in aggregate or group subjects (Maths, Physics, and Chemistry) in the 10+2 qualifying examination.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.

• A Candidate should have passed the Intermediate examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry group subjects
• Any other Examinations equal to Intermediate Recognized by the university
• They have to qualify in the EAMCET Conducted by the Govt of A.P.
• The department provides necessary training to impart employability skills to its students.
• The candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the AP Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions) Order 1974 as amended from time to time.
