Admission to all UG programs is made by the Haryana State Technical Education Society (HSTES).

B.Arch programs is made through Centralized Counseling conducted by the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) / Joint Seat Allocation authority (JOSAA) constituted each year by MHRD, GOI based on the All India Rank secured by the student in the JEE Main Examination. In the event of some seats remaining vacant after completion of JOSAA/CSAB process, the same may be filled by SMVDU through Direct Counseling from the Application Forms received against the National level advertisement that may be issued by the University for the purpose. The Direct Counseling shall also be conducted on the basis of JEE Main All India Rank (CRL) only.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as mandatory subjects with 50% marks in aggregate and also atleast 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 examination. OR Passed 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject having obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the aggregate and Qualifying NATA (Or) Any other Aptitude Test conducted by Competent Authority of the State Government/ UT.

Candidate applying for admission to B. Arch program should satisfy the eligibility criteria as per JOSAA/CSAB guidelines and Council of Architecture (CoA) guidelines. 

Candidates applying for admission to B.Arch. program through SMVDU Direct Counseling (Subject to availability of vacant seats) based on JEE (Main) Rank (CRL)-Paper-2 must satisfy the eligibility criteria as per JOSAA/CSAB guidelines except that the minimum aggregate percentage obtained at 10+2 must be 60% or equivalent GPA . Further, candidates having valid NATA Score will also be eligible for applying for admission to B.Arch. program through SMVDU Direct Counseling. However, preference will be given to candidates with valid JEE (Main) Rank (CRL)-Paper-2.
