Admission Details
B Tech level, students are admitted through JEE (main) Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. As per the direction of the MHRD 50% of the seats in NITs will be filled from eligible candidates of States where NITs are located and rest 50% will be filled on All India Merit basis. The admissions are made centrally by CSAB (Central seat allocation board) as per the directions of MHRD.
Admission based on JEE Main entrance exam.
Eligibility Criteria
Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and secured at least 75% aggregate marks. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
All those candidates who have passed the 10+2 examination from a board recognized or established by central/state government through legislation with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:-
1. Chemistry 2. Biotechnology 3. Computer Science 4. Biology
If the seats of B.Tech. (Bio-Technology) remain vacant after the central counseling the seat may be filled with the candidates having the following qualification also
10+2 with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects:-
1. Mathematics 2. Biotechnology 3. Computer Science 4. Biology
Or
Those candidates who have passed diploma in any Engineering Trade from Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET), or any such an examination from any other recognized State Board of Technical Education
Or
The candidates who have passed two years certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET) shall be eligible.
