• In all courses, 90% of students of approved intake capacity will be admitted based on merit position secured by the candidate in the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). The balance of 10% of students will be admitted from JEE-MAIN per norms stipulated by AICTE and the state government.
• Diploma holders in any Engineering /Technology discipline can enter a degree course in the second year at HETC, through an admission test, JELET, conducted by WBJEEB.

Candidates must qualify for the 12th standard examination with Mathematics, Physics, and either chemistry or biology, computer application, or computer science with a minimum score of 45% for general students and 35% for backward cast students.

The student should have passed the 10+2 with Physics & Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application / Technical Vocational Subjects and English as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks ( in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all three subjects as stated above. Must have obtained at least 45% marks ( 40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved categories, e.g. ST, SC, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) in the above three subjects taken together. The eligibility for lateral entry is 10th + 3-year Diploma in a relevant field or B.Sc. Degree from any university recognized by UGC with at least 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD) marks.
