• A valid score in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) are eligible to apply for admission.
• For admission to M.Tech. course under the regular/sponsored category, the concerned School shall adopt qualifying criteria for short-listing for interview/written test and prepare a merit list of selected candidates after interview/written test for all the categories.

Admissions are done on the basis of GATE score.

Candidates who have qualified for the award of Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized University or Institute in an appropriate discipline are eligible to apply for admission to the M.Tech. program. Candidates with M.Sc. degree from a recognized University or Institute in an appropriate discipline may also be eligible to apply for admission to the M.Tech. program. Exact eligibility criteria will be as prescribed in the regulations and approved by the senate of the Institute from time to time and announced by the Institute for admission in each year. The admission of the candidate is subject to approval by the Chairman, senate and this shall be reported to the senate.

• The programme is open to candidates of all categories with Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering /Technology / M.Sc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE, etc.) and having a valid GATE score. Note: All regular category candidates (except those having  B.Tech. degrees from an  IIT with a minimum CPI of 8.0) must possess a valid score of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). 
• Candidates seeking admission to M.Tech. Programme of the Institute shall have to possess a minimum of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 in 10 point scale) for General/OBC categories and 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 in 10 point scale) for SC/ST categories in the final qualifying examination.
