Admission Details
Admissions are done on the basis of entrance exam Conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Board (WBJEE).
Candidate Must have any valid WBJEE or JEE(Main) rank.
Eligibility Criteria
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
For Admission to First Year B.Tech
Candidates should :
a) Passed Higher Secondary (10+2) Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education or equivalent
examination from a recognized Council/Board with:
b) Individual pass marks in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology.
c) Minimum of 45% marks in the above subjects taken together (40% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC candidates) as well as a pass in English with a minimum of 30% marks (for all categories of candidates) in the said qualifying examination.
d) The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as on 31.12.2017. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the WBJEE – 2017. A candidate born on or after 01.01.2000 is not eligible to appear in the WBJEE -2017
e) Must qualify/pass in English at 10+2 level.
f) Must have any valid WBJEE or JEE(Main) rank.
For Admission to Second Year B.Tech (Lateral Entry)
Admission through the Lateral Entry Scheme shall be made strictly based on current year merit and the preference of candidates in the Common Entrance Examination for admission through the Lateral Entry Scheme (i.e., JELET) conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board, or 50% marks in the overall semester for direct admission.
