The selection of students to a course of Physiotherapy shall be based on merit.

A Candidate seeking admission to the first-year Bachelor's in Physiotherapy (BPT):

i) Should have passed the two-year Pre University examination conducted by the Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State, with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually also.

OR

ii) Shall have passed any other examination conducted by Boards / Councils / Intermediate examination established by State Government / Central Government and recognized as equivalent to a two-year Pre University Examination by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences / Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as optional subjects. The candidate shall have passed subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology individually also.

OR

iii) Candidates who have completed a Pre-university course with Vocational Physiotherapy as their optional subject are eligible for admission to the BPT course.

A candidate seeking admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy course should have completed 17 years of age, as on 31st December of the year of admission

Every candidate before admission to the course shall furnish to Principal of the Institution a certificate of Medical Fitness from an authorized Government Medical Officer to the effect, that the candidate is physically fit to undergo Physiotherapy course.

Candidates seeking admission for Physiotherapy degree course should have passed Pre University (PU/ HSC (10+2) or equivalent examination from a recognised board with a minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Karnataka State students belonging to SC/ST category are the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in qualifying examination should not be less than 40%.

Students from outside Karnataka State need to obtain an eligibility certificate from Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University prior to seeking admission to the course.

Candidates who have studied abroad and have passed the equivalent qualification with English has one of the languages and 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology will be evaluated by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University for the eligibility of admission.
