Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) as mandatory subjects from a recognized board.

Minimum Marks:

• 60% aggregate marks in PCM
• 50% marks in English subject in 10+2 examination.

Maximum age:

• For Male: General-25 years, OBC (NCL) - 28 years, SC/ST-30 years.
• For Female: General-27 years, OBC (NCL) - 30 years, SC/ST-32 years.

*The reference date for calculation of the age will be from the date of commencement of the Academic Session (01.08.2024).

Eligibility - Lateral Entry for admission in 2nd Year

3-years Engineering Diploma in Marine/ Mechanical / Electrical / Electrical & Electronics, from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the last year of Diploma Course.

OR

4 years Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from the colleges approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education with minimum 55% aggregate marks in the last year of diploma course.

OR

1st year training from the Alternate Training Scheme, approved by D.G. Shipping (This will not be applicable to MERI).

• 60% in Physics + Math + Chemistry + 50% in English at Class X/XII / any degree course + Valid Rank in IMU-CET in the current year + Valid Passport + Age 18-25yrs + Candidates must be Medically Fit including Eye Sight and Hearing  (Medical Fitness Certificate from doctor empanelled by the D.G. Shipping, Govt. of India)
