Admission Details
Admission of NIT Hamipur is based on the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main). There is no need to apply separately to each NIT. Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, comprising of the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) and the Joint Admission Board (JAB) conduct and supervise the admission process of candidates to various NITs through centralized online counseling process.
Admission is Based on Valid score in GATE Entrance exam.
Eligibility Criteria
Must have passed class XII (or equivalent) Board examination with a minimum of five subjects and secured at least 75% aggregate marks. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
The programme is open to candidates of all categories
with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology (in Electronics and
Communication or Electronics and Telecommunication or Electronics and Instrumentation or Electrical and Electronics or Electrical Engineering)
with 60% or 6.5 CGPA/CPI throughout the academic career (a 5%
relaxation in the marks will be given in either Secondary (10th) or Higher
Secondary (12th) level Certificate Examination) AND having a valid
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) score in either EC or EE or
EI discipline
Note: Special consideration will be given to the candidates having B.Tech.
degree from an IIT with a minimum CPI/CGPA of 8.0 with a valid GATE
score.
