Candidates appearing for the VITEEE-2026 should have either completed or shall be appearing in any one of the following qualifying examinations in 2026

• The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations or any other Board accepted by VIT as equivalent to 10+2 examination.
• Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
• General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
• High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University/Pearson Edexcel regulated by UK For PCM : Physics & Mathematics - A Level/ Chemistry - A/AS Level and English - A/AS Level For PCB : Physics & Biology - A Level/ Chemistry - A/AS Level and English - A/AS Level
• High School Certificate Examination of the International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.

i) For PCM : Physics & Mathematics - HL, Chemistry - SL/HL

ii) For PCB : Physics & Biology - HL, Chemistry - SL/HL

• Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with minimum of 5 subjects as recognized by central board.
• Applicants who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India should produce an equivalence certificate to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination with grade/CGPA converted to percentage.

i) Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply. Candidates who have appeared for multiple board examinations in the same academic year are not eligible.

ii) For Indian nationals attending VITEEE 2026 is mandatory to be eligible for B.Tech. admission.

ii) In case VITEEE 2026 gets cancelled due to natural calamities or causes beyond the control of the institute, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks. Applicants shall be informed accordingly.

• As per the norms of the Anna University / Tamil Nadu State Government (Based on the +2 marks) and TNEA Counselling.
• All eligible candidates who have applied will be grouped into rounds as per the merit list. Counselling is held round wise therefore each group will have one round of counselling. SMS and email alerts will be sent to the applicants via their registered ids and mobile numbers during each stage of counselling.

• The applicant should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO / OCI.
• NRI applicants can directly apply under ‘NRI Category’ through the NRI application form.
• Foreign applicants who have studied/are studying abroad can apply directly through the International application form.
• Applicants whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2004 are eligible to apply for admission into Engineering in the academic year 2026.
• The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
• Applicants should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling/admission, failing which their candidacy for admission will be cancelled.

• Most Backward class Community (MBC) & DNC of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 40% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together .
• SCA/SC/ST community of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 40% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.

B. HSC (Vocational) :

    For candidates belonging to

• Other Communities (OC) of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 50% in the related subjects and Vocational subjects (theory and practical’s) put together
• Backward class Community (BC) and BC (Muslims) of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 45% in the related subjects and Vocational subjects (theory and practical’s) put together.
• Most Backward class Community (MBC) & DNC of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 40% in the related subjects and Vocational subjects (theory and practical’s) put together.
• SCA/SC/ST Community of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 40% in the related subjects and Vocational subjects (theory and practical’s) put together rage of 50% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For candidates of Backward class Community (BC) and BC (Muslims) of Tamil Nadu State: a minimum average of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. For candidates of Most Backward class Community (MBC) and DNC of Tamil Nadu State: a minimum average of 40% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
