Admission Details
Admission shall be made strictly on merit and depending on the number of applicants, the Admission Committee may hold an interview for that purpose. Date of the interview, if any, will be communicated later.
Admission to the LL.B. course is based on merit at the qualifying examination.
Eligibility Criteria
An applicant who has successfully completed Senior Secondary School (+2) course or equivalent from a recognised University of India or outside or from a Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognised by the Union or by the State Government from a foreign country recognised by the Government of that country with atleast 45 % ( 40% for SC, ST and OBC applicants) in aggregate may apply for and be admitted into the program to obtain the integrated degree in law with B.A. as the first degree.
The candidates who have a bachelor's degree from the Dibrugarh University, or any other university, or institution, recognized by the Dibrugarh University to be equivalent, with at least 45% marks in major or aggregate. Relaxations of up to 5% of total marks in respect of SC/ST candidates and up to 3% in the case of OBC/MOBC candidates are allowed as per norms of the Bar Council of India. However, the applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post-graduation through the open universities system without having any basic qualifications for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission to law courses. Moreover, the minimum qualifying marks as mentioned above, shall not automatically entitle a person to get admission into the college, but only shall entitle the candidates to fulfill other institutional criteria notified by the college at the time of the admission.
Age limit for admission
As per Clause 28(b) of the Legal Education Rules, 2008 of the Bar Council of India “Subject to the condition stipulated by the University, and the general social condition of the applicants seeking legal education belatedly, the maximum age for seeking admission into a stream of Three Year Bachelor Degree Course in Law, is limited to thirty with right of the University to give a concession of five further years for the applicant belonging to SC or ST or any Other Backward Community.
