Admission Details
Admission to BE courses is made under K-CET (Karnataka-Common Entrance Test), COMEDK (Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka), and Management quota according to the following eligibility and selection criteria. The criteria are by the Government regulations prevailing at the time of admission.
Management Quota Admission Process
Admission to the management quota seats is open to Karnataka, non-Karnataka, and NRI students. However, the candidate should have appeared and obtained a valid K-CET/ COMEDK/JEE ranking score. Eligible students (those who meet the qualifying requirements as per the eligibility criteria) may contact the college admissions section in order to obtain the application form. Candidates will be selected based on their academic merit and ranking.
Admission through COMED-K :
A consortium of the management of the private colleges of Karnataka conducts this test tentatively in the month of May every year. Both Karnataka & Non-Karnataka students can appear for this test. 30% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through COMED-K test.
Admission through CET :
The government of Karnataka conducts Common Entrance Test tentatively in the month of April every year. Karnataka domicile students can apply for this test and the allotment of the seats is done online. 45% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through CET. In addition to this, 5% of Supernumerary quota seats are also made available for the meritorious- economically weaker students with the tuition fee waiver provision.
Admission through management quota :
25% of the seats of the total intake are to be filled through management quota.
Eligibility Criteria
Academic Requirements and Selection Criteria:
Candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent course in English as one of the languages of study with a minimum of 45% and above (40% in case of SC/ST, Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A, and 3B) aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer/ Electronics(anyone)as an optional subject from a recognized board.
For Diploma Holders (Lateral Entry to II year engineering):
Diploma Holders in engineering with an aggregate minimum of 45% marks and above (40% in case of SC/ ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka) taken together in all the subjects of the final year (V and VI sem) conducted by the Board of Technical Examination, Government of Karnataka or its equivalent, are eligible for admission to the corresponding branch of II year engineering. Candidates must have taken the Common Entrance Test (DCET) conducted by the K-CET Cell for diploma students. Seats will be allotted by the K-CET Cell through a centralized counseling process.
The student should have passed 2nd PUC / 12th standard or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and obtained 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Electronics / Biology. In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% of marks in aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.
