Evaluation process:
The evaluation of applications will be completely online and done in three stages as mentioned here:
Stage 1: Scrutiny for Eligibility
All applications received will be scrutinized based on information provided/uploaded in the application forms. This scrutiny is to check whether the applicant meets the eligibility criteria set for the program. Only those applicants who meet the eligibility criteria will be considered for evaluation.
The application forms not found eligible will not be processed for Stage 3 and will be disqualified.
Stage 2: National Aptitude Test for Architecture - NATA
All applicants should clear the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) as per the guidelines and schedule of COA, India. It is mandatory for all the eligible applicants to appear for the NATA and submit the valid score along with the application form.
Stage 3: Preparation of Merit List
A consolidated merit list of the applicants who are eligible will be prepared on the basis of aggregate score of HSC and valid NATA score.
The application forms scrutinized and not found eligible will not be processed for merit list. The list of disqualified application will be disclosed appropriately.
Candidates applying for B.Des will appear in an entrance examination comprising a General Ability Test (GAT) and a Creative Ability Test (CAT). For such candidates, two separate Common Merit Ranks (CMRs) will be generated.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants should have passed in 10+2 scheme of examination from Gujarat state board or any other State boards or CBSE/CISCE/NIOS/ISB/IB, with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects and minimum 50% aggregate for all subjects.
OR
Should have passed in 10+3 Diploma scheme of examination of any stream from Technical Board of Gujarat or any other state or from a college/university established under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956 with Mathematics as compulsory subject and with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
AND
Should have qualified the National Aptitude Test in Architecture i.e. NATA
Qualifying Age: Maximum age should be less than 24 years as on 1st August of the year of admission. The upper age limit may be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for candidates of Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Person with Disability (PWD) categories.
Educational Qualification:
Passed the plus 2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination of any recognized Central/ State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education / State Board New Delhi / Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.
or
A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects.
or
3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education after secondary school examination.
or
Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 system.
and
Artisan/Ward of Artisan can seek admission under this category on submission of a valid Artisan Card issued to Self/ Father/ Mother by the Development Commissioner (Handicraft), or Development Commissioner (Handlooms), Ministry of Textiles.
