All admissions are made subject to eligibility and according to the norms set by the Supreme Court of India, Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu.

1. Regular Admission

            The students seeking admission to the first semester of the eight-semester B.E./B.Tech. The programme shall require satisfying eligibility rules as prescribed by the University and the Government of Tamil Nadu from time to time.

2. Lateral Entry Admission

           The students who possess the Diploma in Engineering/Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for Lateral entry admission to the third semester of B.E./B.Tech. degree programme and required to satisfy the conditions of admissions there to prescribed by the University and the Government of Tamil Nadu.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics / Mathematics /Chemistry/Computer Science/Electronics/ Information Technology/Biology/Informatics Practices Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subject/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Entrepreneurship .(Any of the Three) Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.

 Passed min. 3 years Diploma Examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted. (The Universities will offer suitable bridge courses such as Mathematics, Physics, Engineering drawing, etc., for the students coming from diverse backgrounds to achieve desired learning outcomes of the Programme).

First Year Admission:

The student has to score a minimum percentage allotted for his/her community in order to be eligible.

• HSC (Academic): General Minimum average of 45%, BC / BC (Muslims) Minimum average of 40%, MBC & DNC Minimum average of 40%, SC/SCA/ST Minimum average of 40%.
• HSC (Vocational): General Minimum average of 45%, BC / BC (Muslims) Minimum average of 40%, MBC & DNC Minimum average of 40%, SC/SCA/ST Minimum average of 40%.

Direct Second Year Lateral Entry:

The Minimum eligibility marks for admission to the second year B.E./B.Tech. degree courses under Lateral entry for Diploma and B.Sc., Candidates Minimum Eligibility Marks: General category 50%, Backward class, including Backward class Muslim 45%, Most Backward Class & Denotified Communities 40%, SC/SCA/ST 40%.
