Candidates should have a qualifying rank in either CET or COMED-K or JEE entrance tests.
COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET) ONLY FOR KARNATAKA STUDENTS The Government of Karnataka conducts a common Entrance test for admission into various professional courses. The CET is generally conducted during May, and the notification will appear in all leading newspapers. A merit list will be prepared based on the 50% weightage for the marks of the qualifying examination and 50% weight for the CET Marks for declaring the CET rank. Seat Matrix is announced, indicating seats available in different colleges in different branches based on the sanctioned intake.
COMEDK BOTH FOR KARNATAKA AND NON-KARNATAKA STUDENTS The Comdek test for admission into various professional courses will be conducted all over India. The Comdek is generally conducted during May, and the notifications will appear in all leading newspapers. The COMEDK ranking is based on the performance of students in the COMEDK entrance test only. The Seat Matrix is announced, indicating seats available in different colleges in different branches based on the sanctioned intake.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidate should have passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with one of the following subjects, namely Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates of Karnataka).
The qualifying examination is the 2nd PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by the State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with English as a compulsory subject.
General Merit Candidate should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST, and OBC candidates of Karnataka state) in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory along with Chemistry / Biology / Computer Science / Electronics as one the subjects. However, changes if any, in the eligibility criteria by the AICTE will be adopted.
