Admission Details
UG (B.Tech) admissions conducted through the common entrance test (EAMCET) by the Andhra Pradesh state government. While 70% of the seats allotted are based on merit in EAMCET, 30% of the seats are earmarked for Management Quota. In addition, the Engineering Diploma holders, based on their merit at ECET (FDH), are admitted into Lateral Entry (II year B. Tech Courses) to the tune of 20% of the total intake.
Admissions are made by the Convener, EAMCET, as per merit at the EAMCET. As per the existing stipulations of the AP State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE), Government of Andhra Pradesh, admissions are made as follows:
Admission through lateral entry into the 2nd year B.Tech Program:
Of the sanctioned intake in each branch of engineering, 20% of seats are allotted to Diploma Holders for admission through lateral entry into the second year B.Tech directly. Admissions into II Year B.Tech through lateral entry for Diploma Holders are conducted by The Convener, ECET (FDH) Admissions through web counseling based on the rank obtained by the candidates in ECET (FDH) and the rules of reservations.
Eligibility Criteria
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
Students aspiring to apply for a four-year B.Tech program must have passed Intermediate or its equivalent (10+2) with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects. Applicants are required to gain a minimum of 45% marks in their intermediate or its equivalent (40% in the case of candidates belonging to the reserved category).
