Admission will be made on the basis of KCET Exam.

Eligibility Criteria

The student should have passed 2nd PUC/ 12th standard or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and should have scored an aggregate of 45% in Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/ Bio-Technology/Computer Science/Electronics/Biology. In case of candidates belonging to Karnataka Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and other Backward Classes (Category I, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B), the minimum marks for the purpose of eligibility will be 40% aggregate in the optional subjects in the qualifying examination.

The candidate should have passed the 12th class exam or second year pre-university or equivalent
Must have compulsory subjects along with Chemistry/Bio-Technology/Biology/Electronics/Computer Science as optional subjects, with English as one of the languages of study
An aggregate minimum of 45% Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer marks forthe general category (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates) and 40% for in optional subjects in the qualifying examination is required.

Lateral Entry:

Candidate must have a Diploma in any engineering discipline a minimum aggregate marks 45% in V & VI semesters (40% marks in case of SC/ST & OBC).
The candidates having a Diploma from Karnataka and coming through the CET cell are eligible for admission to the 3rd semester B.E. in the branch of their study in Diploma.
A candidate who is admitted to the 3rd semester will have to study bridge courses as prescribed in the syllabus supplied by VTU.
