As per TNEA, 65% of admission for govt. quota admission is done and 35% of students are admitted under management counselling. A mere pass in HSC or its equivalent with the minimum average percentage in the relevant subjects or A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational Stream) prescribed for B.E Degree admissions or any other equivalent qualification approved by the State Board of Technical Education and Training / Higher Secondary Board of Tamilnadu / Anna University for Engineering Admissions.

Qualifying Examinations Marks (Maths - 100 marks, Physics + Chemistry- 100 marks) Total - 200 marks Cut off marks = 200 marks.

Minimum Level of Acceptance:-

For SC/ST Candidates, a mere pass in the qualifying examination. The minimum marks are same as the passing minimum for HSC of State of Tamilnadu. Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST should have obtained the following minimum average percentage

The admission shall be on the basis of TNEA entrance exam.

• For other than BC /BC(Muslim)/MBC&DNC /SC/ST - Other communities. A minimum of 55% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• For BC / BC(Muslim) communities. A minimum of 50% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• For MBC&DNC communities. A minimum of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Admission For HSC(Vocational) and Equivalent Examination:-

• For other than BC /BC(Muslim)/MBC&DNC /SC/ST - Other communities. A minimum of 55% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• For BC / BC(Muslim) communities. A minimum of 50% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
• For MBC&DNC communities. A minimum of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

HSC(ACADEMIC)

• General Category: Minimum average of 45% and above in Maths, Physics and Chemistry
• Backward Class including Backward Class Muslims: Minimum average of 40% and above in Maths, Physics and Chemistry
• MBC and DNC: Minimum average of 40% and above in Maths, Physics and Chemistry
• SC / SCA / ST: Minimum average of 40% in Qualifying Examination with Maths, Physics and Chemistry

HSC (VOCATIONAL)

• General Category: Minimum average of 45% and above in the related subjects, Vocational Theory and Practicals
• Backward Class including Backward Class Muslims: Minimum average of 40% and above in the related subjects, Vocational Theory and Practicals
• MBC and DNC: Minimum average of 40% and above in the related subjects, Vocational Theory and Practicals
• SC / SCA / ST: Minimum average of 40% and above in the related subjects, Vocational Theory and Practicals
