Eligibility for Admission in 4-year B.Tech. course

Eligibility Criteria:

Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India or an OCI (subject to approval of the Competent Authority). OCI candidates will be eligible for only unreserved seats in the All India quota.

Candidates must have passed 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent examination before 2025 or be appearing in 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent examination in 2025.

Age Restriction:

The lower age limit is 17 (seventeen) years as of 31.12.2025. A candidate should have been born on or before 31.12.2008. There is no upper age limit for appearing in the examination.

General criteria for admission into Engineering/Technology courses

These criteria will be applicable unless any special criteria are mentioned under section 3.3.

a)   Candidate must have passed the Qualifying Examination, i.e., the ‘10+2’ examination with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application/Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical/project wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.

b) Must have obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category, i.e., SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PWD) in the above three subjects taken together.

c) Must have passed English in the 12th standard (10+2) or its equivalent examination with at least 30% marks.

d)   The Board of the said Qualifying Examination must be recognized by

The Central Government or the concerned State Government.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission to B.TECH (First Year):

• Passed 10 + 2 examinations with Physics Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subjects (as per WBJEE rules).
• Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the 3 subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
• Must have passed English in X and XII examinations with at least 30% marks.
• Students with Higher Secondary (10 + 2, Science) or equivalent examination and have qualified Joint Entrance Examination (Main) conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education or the Joint Entrance Examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board for admission to Engineering, Pharmacy and Technological Degree Colleges as recommended by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board.
