UG admission in BCE for four years B.Tech. Course is made on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) main, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Students have to appear in Under Graduate Engineering Admission Counselling (UGEAC) in order to seek admission to the first year B.E. / B. Tech. Courses based on the merit-list / Rank-List of JEE (Main).

The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) conducts the entrance test in two stages. The first stage is the screening test. The screened candidates appear in the mains Examination (second stage). For lateral entry in Second year, one must have passed Diploma in engineering/B.Sc. and should be in the merit list of BCECE(LE).

The minimum academic qualification and Age for admission through an entrance Examination is a pass in the final examination of the Intermediate, 10+2 system or its equivalent. Those appearing in the Intermediate final or equivalent examination may also appear in the Entrance Examination for consideration of provisional admission.

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
