Admission Details
AP EAPCET is an entrance examination held for admissions into various undergraduate professional courses offered at universities and colleges in Andhra Pradesh. These are called category A seats. The selection procedure for admissions is done after the results of the examination are declared by JNTU. This process is known as counseling, which is usually scheduled in the month of June. Candidates will be called for counseling as per the rank obtained in the entrance exam AND 70% of the seats are filled through EAPCET counseling. The EAPCET-qualified candidates will be allotted seats based on their merit, category, gender, local area, and importantly the availability of seats.
The Admission Process is based on the rank secured in APEAPCET and as per the rules of reservation in force.
Eligibility Criteria
Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together. OR Passed Diploma (in Engineering and Technology) examination with at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) subject to vacancies in the First Year, in case the vacancies at lateral entry are exhausted.
The Candidate for admission to the four-year degree course in Engineering must have passed the Intermediate Examination of the Board of Intermediate Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as mandatory subjects or any other 10+2 level examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate as equivalent.
B.Tech(Lateral Entry)
The Convener of ECET admits candidates in 2nd year of BE (lateral entry), from the stream of Diploma Holders and B.Sc. Graduates with Mathematics as one of the subjects based on the rank secured in the Engineering Common Entrance Test (ECET) to an extent of 10% of the sanctioned intake, on a supernumerary basis. FEES: As applicable in the case of "Category A" seats.
