A candidate willing to seek admission to an undergraduate course for an academic year shall obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by an authority designated by the Central Government for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses held for the said academic year.

He/she should have appeared for and qualified in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). 

In case of admission based on the qualifying examination, a candidate for admission to the BDS course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in the qualifying examination. In respect to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 40% instead of 50% as above, and the candidate must have passed the subject of English.

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) shall be designated authority for counseling for all the admission to Undergraduate and Post graduate courses in all Dental educational institutions in the state including the institutions established by the State Government, University, Deemed university, Trust, Society, Minority institution, Corporation or company shall be in accordance with relevant rules and regulations of the Government of Karnataka State.

• A candidate shall be eligible to join the BDS course if he /she has passed the two-year Pre-University Examination of Karnataka’s Pre-University Board (or equivalent qualifying examination of other recognized boards) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as one of the languages of study.
• Candidate shall have obtained not less than 50% of the aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together, and a pass in the English language in the qualifying examination or any other examination recognized as equivalent by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru (Bangalore), Karnataka. Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) students or students of any other categories notified by the government shall be given a relaxation of 10% in the aggregate marks required for eligibility. He / She shall have obtained the required percentile marks in the NEET Examination as notified by the authority
