A candidate willing to seek admission to an undergraduate course for an academic year shall obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) conducted by an authority designated by the Central Government for the undergraduate and postgraduate courses held for the said academic year.

The candidates who wish to seek admission to Dental courses (BDS/MDS) must compulsorily qualify in the UGNEET/PGNEET-2026 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) exam conducted by NTA, New Delhi. Candidates who qualify in the UGNEET/PGNEET– current session 2026 exam will only get eligibility for admission to Dental courses (BDS/MDS) through KEA counseling conducted by the Government of Karnataka.

In case of admission based on the qualifying examination, a candidate for admission to the BDS course must have passed individually in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and must have obtained a minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together in the qualifying examination. In respect to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 40% instead of 50% as above, and the candidate must have passed the subject of English.

Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile;

Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) shall be designated authority for counseling for all the admission to Undergraduate and Post graduate courses in all Dental educational institutions in the state including the institutions established by the State Government, University, Deemed university, Trust, Society, Minority institution, Corporation or company shall be in accordance with relevant rules and regulations of the Government of Karnataka State.
