Admission Details
Admission to all seats of the BDS course will be done through National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET Exam).
The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), yearly given by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), determines admission to the BDS program alone.
The NEET score directs totally merit-based choice. Candidates had to show at least the 50th percentile in NEET (45th percentile for some PWD groups and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC). Should enough candidates in any category fall short of the required percentile, the Central Government, working with the Dental Council of India, could lower the minimum marks for that year. Every admission comes from essentially the All India and State-wise NEET merit lists.
Eligibility Criteria
A candidate for admission to the BDS Course must have passed the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General & 45 % Marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates in the 10+2 qualifying examination.
Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 17 years old as on 31st December of the year of admission.
Educational Qualifications: Must have passed PUC II / HSC / 10+2 or equivalent examination (e.g., ISCE) from any recognized Board/University in India or abroad after 12 years of study.
Should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as separate subjects.
Must have obtained at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology combined in the qualifying examination, with passing marks in English.
NEET Qualification
Admission is based on the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) merit list.
Minimum qualifying marks in NEET: General Category: 50th percentile, SC/ST/OBC: 40th percentile, Locomotor Disability (lower limbs): 45th percentile
Percentile is calculated on the basis of the highest marks in the NEET All-India merit list.
Relaxation in Minimum Marks: If sufficient candidates in reserved categories do not meet the above criteria, the Central Government, in consultation with the Dental Council of India (DCI), may lower the minimum marks for that academic year only.
Reservation of seats will be as per prevailing State/Union Territory laws.
Separate All-India and State-wise merit lists will be prepared based on NEET scores.
Non-Eligibility: Candidates failing to meet the minimum marks requirement will not be admitted. All admissions are solely based on NEET scores.
Entrance Examination: NEET, conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), will serve as the single eligibility-cum-entrance test for BDS admissions each academic year.
