Admissions are merit-based. After accommodating the students of M.E.S.PU College, seats are allotted according to Government directives regarding the reservation policy. Within a given category merit is considered as the basis of admissions. Physically handicapped persons, renowned sportspersons, and cultural achievers are positively encouraged.

A candidate who has passed the two years Pre-University Examination conducted by the Pre-University Education Board in Karnataka or any other examination considered as equivalent shall be eligible for admission to B.Com. programs. Candidate to opt Commerce should have studied Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics, Maths at the qualifying examination.

1. Candidates who have passed the two years Pre-University Examination of Karnataka State or any other examination considered as equivalent thereto with Commerce and Accountancy as optional subjects shall be eligible for admission to the B.Com degree course.

2. Candidates who have passed any qualifying examination conducted by the statutory University/Board in India established by law under 10+2 pattern with Commerce and Accountancy are also eligible for admission.

3. Candidates who have appeared for the All-India Senior Certificate examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi having offered Commerce and Accountancy if failed in any one of the subjects and declared passed by the Board, are not eligible for admission. To eligible for Admission to B. Com, the candidate should have passed Commerce and Accountancy in the qualifying examination.
