    Eligibility Criteria


    1. Having Passport at the time of admission is mandatory.
    2. Qualifying IMU CET/State level Engineering Entrance Exam/JEE (with more than 40 Percentile) is mandatory for First Year B. Tech Marine Engineering, B.Sc. Nautical Science admission and Diploma in Nautical Science.
    3. For the Academic Year-2025, 5% relaxation in PCM marks at the 12th Std. Board Level for SC/ST Candidates for Admission into Pre-Sea courses (B.Tech / B.Sc). For DGS Circular,
    4. Part time or distance learning or correspondence course or any combination of these shall not be considered.
    Academic Qualifications

    The candidate must have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with:

    • At least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and
    • At least 50% marks in English either in Class X or Class XII.
    Age

    Candidates less than 25 years of age as on 1st of August in the year of admission will be eligible to apply. The date of birth as recorded on the applicants School Leaving Certificate will be considered for this purpose.

    1. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to "Scheduled Cast"(SC) / "Scheduled Tribe" (ST) Category shall be relaxed by 5 years.
    2. The maximum age limit for candidates belonging to No-Creamy layer of "Other Backward Classes" (OBC) Category shall be relaxed by 3 Years
    3. The maximum age limit for women candidates of each category shall be relaxed by additional 2 years.

    • The Candidate should pass in 12th Standard or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%. 
    • The candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the English language in the 10th or 12th standard exam.

    Lateral Entry:

    • Candidates can join 2nd year of 4-Year Marine Engineering Degree Course who have passed a 3-year Diploma Course in Mechanical / Marine / Electrical / Electrical and Electronics, from the colleges approved by AICTE or the State Board of Technical Education, with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in the last year of the Diploma Course. 
    • Candidates who have passed the 2nd year of a 4-Year Marine Engineering Degree Course, who have passed the 1st year from the Engineering College in other streams like Mechanical or Electrical, approved by AICTE, with a minimum 60% average marks.
