    Admission is typically merit-based, following the guidelines set by the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT).

    Eligibility Criteria

    Applicants must have completed 10+2 (Higher Secondary) or an equivalent examination from a recognized board or council (such as CBSE, ISC, WBCHSE, or any state board in India).

    Minimum Marks Required:

    • Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.
    • A relaxation of 5% is provided for candidates belonging to reserved categories (i.e., 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates), as per government norms.

    Subject Requirements:

    • Having Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics as one of the subjects at the 10+2 level is preferred.
    • However, students without these subjects may also apply, but they might be required to undergo a bridge course or introductory classes in the initial semester.

    Age Limit:

    • There is no upper age limit specified by MAKAUT or AICTE, but candidates must be at least 17 years old at the time of admission.

    Lateral Entry (if applicable):

    • Some colleges may offer lateral entry to the 2nd year of the BCA program for students who have completed a recognized Diploma in Computer Science/IT after 10+2.
