• As per the norms of the Anna University / Tamil Nadu State Government (Based on the +2 marks) and TNEA Counselling.
• All eligible candidates who have applied will be grouped into rounds as per the merit list. Counselling is held round wise therefore each group will have one round of counselling. The candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examinations(10+2) of Curriculum (Academic Stream) prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as three of the four subjects of study or any examination of any other University or authority accepted by the Syndicate of Anna University as equivalent thereto.

The candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Vocational stream (Vocational groups in Engineering / Technology) as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu. 

Lateral entry admission 

(i) The candidates who possess the Diploma in Engineering / Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamilnadu or its equivalent are eligible to apply for Lateral entry admission to the third semester of B.E. / B.Tech. in the branch corresponding to the branch of study. 

(OR) 

(ii)The candidates who possess the Degree in Science (B.Sc.,) (10+2+3 stream) with Mathematics as a subject at the B.Sc. Level are eligible to apply for Lateral entry admission to the third semester of B.E. / B.Tech.

• Backward class Community (BC) and BC (Muslims) of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 45% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.
• Most Backward class Community (MBC) & DNC of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 40% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together .
• SCA/SC/ST community of Tamil Nadu State: A pass with minimum average of 40% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.

B. HSC (Vocational) :
