    Common Entrance Test (CET) and Selection Process-

    The Government of Karnataka conducts a Common Entrance Test (CET) through the Karnataka Examination Authority. This entrance exam is a gateway to obtaining an engineering seat through the Government quota. The CET conducts the examination in four subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Candidates who wish to seek admission in engineering courses should appear for the Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics exams. Students are offered a choice of colleges based on their CET ranking at the time of CET counselling and can choose CMRIT at the time of CET counselling.

    COMEDK and Selection Process-

    The Karnataka Private Medical & Dental Colleges Association namely “Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka”, COMEDK also conducts entrance examinations for all students irrespective of state. After the COMEDK entrance test is administered and the test scores and rank lists have been published, centralized counselling will be conducted. Students are given the option of selecting the college of their choice during COMEDK counselling, and can choose CMRIT at this time.

    Management Admission Process-

    Admission through this process is open to both Karnataka and non-Karnataka students. Eligible students (those who meet qualifying requirements as per the eligibility criteria) may contact the CMRIT Admissions Section in order to obtain the application form.     Eligibility Criteria

    Qualification - Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or Computer science or Electronics with a minimum of 45% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.

    CET (Govt.Quota) 

    • The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 exam or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government/ University with English as a compulsory subject.
    • The General Merit candidates should have passed 2 nd PUC or 10+2 examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry or Bio-Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. English must be a subject of study. However, educational qualifications/eligibility criteria prescribed by the competent authority in regulations/guidelines issued from time to time will be applicable in deciding the eligibility.

    COMEDK 

    • Candidates from all over the country are eligible to apply provided they should have appeared for the COMEDK Entrance exam ( UGET 2017) and should have fulfilled academic eligibility.
    • The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. is second PUC or 10+2 exam or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government/ University with English as a compulsory subject.
    • The General Merit candidates should have passed 2 nd PUC or 10+2 examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry or Bio-Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. English must be a subject of study. However, educational qualifications/eligibility criteria prescribed by the competent authority in regulations/guidelines issued from time to time will be applicable in deciding the eligibility. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the VTU/DTE/ AICTE will be adopted.

    Management Quota 

    • Candidates from all over the country /NRI/ Foreign National are eligible to apply under Management Quota

    • The General Merit candidates should have passed 2 nd PUC or 10+2 examination with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry or Bio-Technology or Biology or Computer Science or Electronics as one of the optional subjects. English must be a subject of study. However, educational qualifications/eligibility criteria prescribed by the competent authority in regulations/guidelines issued from time to time will be applicable in deciding the eligibility. However, changes, if any, in the eligibility criteria by the VTU/DTE/ AICTE will be adopted.
    • An attempt in the COMEDK or CET Entrance Test or any other Entrance test (recognized) for seeking admission to Engineering courses under the management quota is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list.

    LATERAL ENTRY to III SEMESTER for Diploma / B.Sc. students 

    • No candidate shall be eligible for admission to Government Seats unless he is a citizen of India and satisfies eligibility conditions. He/she should have appeared for DCET examination.
    • Each condition is specified as a clause and is individually referred to a code. The documents to be produced during verification of documents in support of the claim for each of the Clauses.
    • The candidates who do not satisfy any of the Clauses / Eligibility Criteria and the candidates who do not produce the prescribed documents in original will not be eligible for admission to professional courses under Government quota seats.
    • Other than the certificate mentioned in clauses, if a candidate claiming seat under Article 371 (j) Hyderabad-Karnataka region reservation, candidate should produce eligibility certificate from the concerned Assistant Commissioner in Annexure-A as per the format.
    • Candidates should have passed any diploma or equivalent examination in Karnataka and obtained an aggregate minimum of 45% marks( 40% marks in case of SC, ST and Backward Classes of Karnataka Candidates. Candidates with B.Sc degree are also eligible.

    Admission to undergraduate programmes in engineering shall be open to candidates who have passed Karnataka 2nd PUC / 12th standard or equivalent examination in Physics and Mathematics subjects along with Chemistry / Electronics / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study. Students must have obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate (40% for SC/ST/OBC) in PCM. The candidate must have also written any one of the following entrance exams: CET/ COMED-K / JEE / AIEEE. The rank card has to be produced.

    For Diploma Holders

    Diploma Holders in engineering with a minimum of 50% marks in the final examination, conducted by the Board of Technical Examination, Government of Karnataka or its equivalent, are eligible for admission to the corresponding branch of Second Year engineering. Candidates must take the Common Entrance Test (DCET) for Diploma students conducted by the CET Cell, Govt. of Karnataka. Seats will be allotted during the centralized counseling process conducted by the CET Cell.

     For NRI & Foreign students

    Admission to undergraduate programmes in engineering shall be open to NRI / Foreign candidates who have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination recognized by AIU with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with Chemistry / Electronics / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study.
