Candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in the HSC (+2) examination conducted by the state and through counselling (TNEA) conducted by Anna univeristy Chennai, selected candidates are allotted to various colleges for admission. TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission ) is a state level counselling for admission to the undergraduate B.E/ B.Tech degree courses offered by the institutions or colleges located in the limits of Tamil Nadu state. TNEA counselling form will be issued to the students who complete higher secondary every year.

Pass in HSC (Academic) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry, put together as given below.

• BC including BCM 40 %
• MBC & DNC 40 %
• SC / SCA / ST 40 %

A pass in any one of the HSC (Vocational Subject) as given below with any one of the Engineering related subject namely Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry, with a minimum average percentage put together as given below.

Applicants for engineering admissions in Chennai need to meet the following requirements:

Diploma Holders (various branches) are also eligible to II year of the four years B.E. / B.Tech Degree courses.
