Dear Applicant,

I hope you are doing well, about your question CUCET paper is divided into 2 parts. The full paper is of 100 marks combining both parts.

Each part has a definite amount of Questions i.e. part A has 25 questions and B has 75 questions. This varies on the basis of what type of paper you are answering.

Your marks will be based of the combined marks you achieve in both Parts. So if you don't answer a part your marks are bound to reduce, thus a drop in your rank that can affect your admission. higher the rank better is your chance to get a good seat.

So I would advise you to answere both your papers!!

PhD exam in CUCET consists of two parts:

Part A has 50 questions based on research methodology including English, General Knowledge and Numerical Ability

Part B consists of 50 question from the respective subject which is economics in your case.

The syllabus is quite similar to UGC NET-JRF exam, so you can visit at https://www.ugc.ac.in/ to know more details regarding this, go through your graduate and postgraduate course of study regarding this.

see cucet is the entrance test to admission to central university to ug, pg and phd course. however the cutoff score changes every year and it depends on certain factors like number of applicants, questions difficulty level, seat matrix, students category and so on. cucet conducting authority would release a cutoff score, students who are unable to get the cutoff will not eligible for admission.

once the results declares central universities will release their merit list and cutoff in their respective website. students need to participate in the ccounselling process by visiting the official site of the respective institute and make all registration process for counselling.

since you did not mention about phd stream,  I would suggest you to check the official website of the university and merit list. if you are eligible to apply do all the procedure mentioned in the official site for counselling.

For the procedure in central university of Tamilnadu, firstly you have to register for counselling. After counselling college will release merit list with your rank in a ascending order. And Merit list means the name of candidates who registered for the counselling. After that university will release cutoff and confirm your admission.

From the site of cucet, it is clear that you know about your rank when a merit list is declared. In a merit list students name will be written with their rank. And from there you know about your rank.

For eg. CURAJ will be declaring merit list on 24/10/2020.
