How will I get admission for biotechnology through KEAM?

Vipul Chaudhary 25th Sep, 2020

Hi there!

Admission Process

Out of the total seats available, 50% seats are under the state quota, 25% are under the management quota filled by Govt., 10% are under the management quota KSRTC and remaining 5% are under the NRI quota. For all the categories of seats the various fees are fixed by the Govt, and for the state quota seats, the fees fixed is the same as that in Govt. Self financing Engineering Colleges/ comparable to that in Govt. Engineering Colleges. To the state quota and to the management quota the students are admitted by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE) based on the rank obtained in the entrance test and observing all reservation norms as applicable to the Govt. Engineering Colleges. In the case of NRI  seats, the students are admitted based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

Eligibility Criteria

A pass in the 12th standard examination of the Kerala State or examinations considered equivalent thereto with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects with a separate minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and overall 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together. OR Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education or Equivalent and must have a minimum of 60% marks. Relaxation of 5% marks will be allowed to SEBC candidates whose annual family income does not exceed 4.5Lakhs. For candidates belonging to SC/ST community, a pass in the qualifying examination will be sufficient. Note: Candidates belonging to socially and educationally backward classes as per G.O (P) 20^B6/Edn.dt.2- 5-66 and amendments thereof with a total annual family income up to 4.5Lakhs will have a relaxation of 5% marks. Scheduled caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates need only a pass in the qualifying examination. In the case of candidates selected on the basis of the marks in the qualifying examinations 50% marks in Mathematics (University stipulation) and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together (A.I.C.T.E stipulation) is required. For diploma holders 60% marks in final diploma examination is required. The relaxation given above for candidates belonging S.E.B.C and S.T are applicable here also. This is applicable only in the case of nominees of Govt, of India and nominees to reciprocal quota seats of other states. The candidates should have appeared for the qualifying examination before appearing for the Common Entrance Examination. No rounding off of percentage marks to the nearest whole number is permitted. E.g. 50% means 75/150 or 225/450 and 45% means 68/150 or 203/450. The absolute marks, obtained by the candidate alone will be taken into account for determining eligibility. is there an obc ranking in keam

crremyaprasad 11th Oct, 2020
Hello student ,

There is separate rank list for keam this year for categories like ezhava , Muslim etc.

But the in allotements the category rank is not using, it is based on your original rank but there will be reservation for different categories CEE, Kerala has released the first allotment of KEAM 2020. Candidates can now check their allotment status through candidate login and payment of the required fee has to be done between October 8 to 10, 2020. KEAM 2020 seat allotment is being done through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP), a Single Window System (SWS). In CAP the seats are allotted to candidates based on their merit, options filled during counselling and availability of seats. Seat allotment of KEAM 2020 is a system in which authorities allot the seat to the candidates in colleges and courses through online submission of options. Therefore, it is a must for the candidates to fill the options during the KEAM counselling 2020 in order of their preference, i.e. colleges and courses they are sure to join upon allotment. KEAM seat allotment 2020 for all candidates is being done in three phases depending on the seats. If a candidate fails to join the college and course allotted, he/she will lose the KEAM allotment along with all the existing options in the course. Under KEAM 2020 seat allotment, candidates will be allotted seats into Government/ Aided/ KAU/ KVASU/ KUFOS and Self Financing Colleges.

Hope this will help
