I think cutoff for CSE at the main campus was around 140+ so score atleast 5 marks more than that as the competition increases year by year as there is a chance of attempting the exam for three times getting CSE is not too tough.

See if you score well in SRM then increase your work power more to get better ranks in VIT. VIT will be much better than SRM. So if you have the resources available then you should not pay the fees until and unless you want to be only in SRM.
