i have gotten my ews certificate in september this year 2025 and jee counselling team asked that it had to be issued after 1 april 2026 and they are also demanding the ews application number in registration which is coming in november so i want to know can i renew it after 1 april 2026 or apply anew

Jishan Mondal 1st Oct, 2025

Hello,

You cannot "renew" your September 2025 certificate. You must apply for a completely new EWS certificate after April 1, 2026.

EWS certificates are linked to a specific financial year.

Your certificate issued in September 2025 is valid for the financial year 2025-26. It is based on your family's income from the previous financial year (i.e., 2024-25).

The certificate required for JEE counselling in mid-2026 must be valid for the financial year 2026-27. This certificate must be based on your family's income from the financial year 2025-26 and must be issued on or after April 1, 2026.

Since they are based on two different income periods, they are considered completely different documents.

Hope it's helpful to you.

i applied for gate examinatin my payment was succeded but application status was showing failed what can i do ?

Chelsie G 28th Sep, 2025

If your GATE application shows failed status even after a successful payment, don’t worry, this usually happens due to server or transaction update delays. First, wait for 24–48 hours as sometimes the status gets updated automatically. If it still shows failed, you should raise a query through the GATE application portal by providing your enrollment ID and payment receipt or transaction details. You can also contact the GATE zonal office via email or helpline with proof of payment. Keeping a screenshot of the payment success message will also help in resolving the issue quickly.

If I gave 12th this year and scored 70% and took a drop for giving jee next year and cbse improvement exam next year through cbse private candidate....if I am able to improve by score by 90% ...will this improved 12th marks be considered in Application rating of top IIM A,B,C???

Ankur Mehta 27th Sep, 2025

Yes, if you appear for the CBSE improvement exam as a private candidate and score higher marks, then the latest marksheet will be considered as your valid Class 12th result. For IIM A, B, C and other top IIMs, they look at the final updated marksheet that you present at the time of admission.

So, if you improve your percentage from 70% to 90%, then definitely the improved score will be counted in your profile evaluation. Just make sure you give the exam through the official CBSE improvement route and keep the valid documents.

I made one mistake in gate application form, that mistake is Im selected general category but Im OBC category so I can change that mistake how much fee paid

Prachi Kumari 25th Sep, 2025

Hello,

Yes, you can change your category from General to OBC in the GATE application form. This can be done during the correction window, which typically opens after the last date for application submission.

You will need to pay a correction fee of Rs. 500. Please ensure you upload a valid OBC certificate as per the prescribed format and date mentioned by GATE.

To make the change, log in to the GOAPS portal, navigate to the "Change personal data" section, and update your category. Submit the changes and pay the required fee.

Remember to complete the correction before the deadline, as no changes will be accepted after the final date.

Hope it helps !

I have OBC certificate which was valid till Feb 2025. Now while filling application form in month of September for JEE Mains 2026 can I fill and upload the old OBC certificate and renewe OBC certificate after April 2026 for getting admission

Anshika Gupta 14th Sep, 2025

No, you cannot use your OBC certificate valid until February 2025 for the JEE Mains 2026 application and admission process, as the certificate must be issued on or after April 1, 2026, for the exam year. You should apply for a fresh certificate issued after April 1, 2026, and upload it for the application, or, if it's not ready by the counseling stage, use the official declaration form and submit the valid certificate later.

I filled the CAT form the day before yesterday, and while making the payment, the page showed an error. However, the money was deducted from my acount, and I also received an email confirming my application submission. When I logged into the website again,I was able to downlaod the appication form, where the payment status was shown as "S" . But on the homepage,it is said that my application was saved, but the previous payment has failed, and I needed to go to the "Go to Application" section and there was an option to make the payment again.Could someone please tell me what I am supposed to do now?

Rohan 11th Sep, 2025

Since your application shows payment status as “S” and you received a confirmation email, your payment likely went through.

  • Don’t pay again.
  • Take screenshots of your confirmation email, downloaded form, and bank transaction.
  • Immediately contact the official CAT helpdesk here:
    https://iimcat.ac.in/cat2025/helpdesk.php
  • Attach all proof and explain the issue.
Wait for their reply to avoid paying twice.
