What is the procedure and structure of JosAA counselling after Jee Main Ranks come out ? What are the tips (or tricks )that should be kept in mind ? How is JosAA different from JAC-Delhi in terms of procedure ?

MD Neshat Faizy 5th Mar, 2020
Hello Yadvendra, the result of JEE Advanced are announced around 2nd week of June and after that the councilling of Joint seat allocation authority (JOSAA)  starts around 4th week of june, first of all there is choice filling by the candidate at the site of JOSAA after that seat is alloted to the candidate on the basis of choice, if you want you can lock that choice and accept that seat for admission,or you can go for further rounds to get better preference choice, after locking your choice time is given to the candidate for reporting to the reporting centres for document verification and seat acceptance and paying seat acceptance fee. There are first 7 rounds for NIT's, IIT'S, etc and then two special rounds for NIT's.
the point you should keep in mind is that you should fill your choices in preference order and do detailed research about the branch which you want to take, Don't accept the seat in starting round if you are not getting a good branch and college, wait till the 6th or 7th round to accept the seat.
And most Surely participate in Special round as the cutoff of special round comes quite low as many people's don't participate in special round and you will be benefited by that.

With NEET PG counselling round the corner,I cannot choose between MD internal medicine and MD psychiatry.I seem to be utterly confused.I am getting premier institutes in Psychiatry with my rank(1400 AIR) but state colleges in medicine. Please help.

Manish Singh 5th Mar, 2020

Yes it is a difficult situation for you to come across. You have great options in both of the field with your rank of 1400.  With that said, i i would say that going for MD psychiatry would be a great option at this point of time. Psychiatry is a speciality on its own and you get to deal with every kind of patients and problems in that. There is a extreme shortage of psychiatric and the pay is too good. You can practice in many places like  inpatient, outpatient, VA, university counseling centers, emergency rooms, medical wards, integrated into other specialty clinics (i.e. OBGYN, pediatrics) and prisons, to name a few. I hope it helps.

But the last decision will be on what you like better as you will have to go for it for the rest of your life. Choose wisely and best regards

ruchika.chauhan Expert 5th Mar, 2020

Hello

According to your rank, chances would be less to get a seat through DNB CET Counselling.
You might get a seat through NEET PG All India Counselling in BJ Medical College for MD Anatomy,  Government Medical College Patiala for MD Physiology.

Check your admission chances using the NEET PG All India College Predictor tool:

Soutrik Acharya 18th Apr, 2020

Hello,

You can definitely go for Tamilnadu State counselling if you have a Tamilnadu domicile certificate. But if you get a seat in Tamilnadu state counselling then you have to surrender the PG seat that you have got in the all India quota counselling.

Thank you.

Madhu, your income certificate is mandatory only if you have applied to avail reservation benefits under Non creamy layer. Or else you will not require your Income certificate. But if you applied under Non creamy layer, then the income certificate is mandatory failing which your admission might stand cancelled. If you do not have a Ration card, you can even submit your Aadhar card. Here are the documents you will need for Counselling:

i have ews certificate but I forget to fill this in my neet form will I get the benefit of my ews certificate if I bring it to the counselling please tell me

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 4th Mar, 2020

NTA has mentioned that once the correction window has been closed neither can you make any changes to the application nor does NTA entertain any requests for change in information in the application form.  So now if you have selected General Category as your Category while filling the application form, you will have to participate in both All India and State Counsellings only with UR as your Category. Unfortunately, you cannot avail EWS reservation. For guidance during Counselling and admission, please use pur MBBS Companion: https://www.careers360.com/mbbs-companion.
