So, no you don't need to fill NIT college in registration. As  you yourself mentioned that you are only eligible for prep course and that is only available for IITs and not NITs . You only need to select  the IIT which if you qualify their test after prep

According to the rank and category mentioned by you in the question you have no chances of getting into any of the IITs. See there are very few seats under SC category which remains vacant for Preparatory courses so on such Preparatory rank it is not possible to
