dear candidate,
you can definitely prepare for CAT and fare well in while pursuing BBA, most people either prepare for CAT in the last year of their graduation or when they are working. please do not make a mistake of dropping a year to prepare for CAT, it is an aptitude exam and it reflects badly in your interviews that you dropped a year just to prepare for CAT especially in top MBA college. CAT is not a memory-based exam
Hello Aspirant,
Common Admission Test ( CAT) is a most popular entrance exam conducted to get admissions into IIMs, business schools etc.
It is noted as the toughest exam but if you draw a plan and implement your valuable time to study for cat from your 1st year BBA it will be a way to succeed in this examination.
Start planning to read the tough topics from now since they need lots of revision and plan based on your interest and performance.
Hope this will help you. Good Luck.
hi bhupesh
chose the subject you are most intersted in . in bsc first year you have to study all subjects but since you are from bio stream you will face difficulty in getting maths as a honours subject or subsidiary .try chosing a subject so that you have all three subjects /pcm . i am a bsc physics honours students and i have studies pcm in my first year . about 60-70 % of bsc first year is from 11 and 12 th so you can prepare easily for semester exams . also remeber you will have only about 40 days to prepare for jee advanced after jee mains .
hello bhupesh
jee advanced is one of the toughest exams . first if you are talking about jee advanced you must have to clear jee mains exam as well .however if you are able to do lots of hard work you can prepare it along with your college . in college you will have the access to the college library . also if you got failed or have backlog in the first sem , then you can clear it further without any loss . however prparation of jee advanced with courses like btech or b.arch would be quite difficult. feel free to discuss in the comments below
Hey arbaab,
You can start preparing any time of these 4 years. If you start early then it will be beneficial for you. Syllabus of GATE is not that big if you are starting early. If you are preparing for GATE exam then it will also cover your B.Tech syllabus also. It will benefit in both ways. I suggest you to go through the syllabus and plan accordingly. If in 2nd year the there are 2 subjects in GATE syllabus then study those 2 only not the 3rd year syllabus. And if you want to get admitted in any of the coaching forum then take admission during 3rd year or in 4th year.
Hope that helps
All the best
CAT Exam will have 3 sections:
1. Verbal ability and Reading comprehension
2. Logical reasoning and data interpretation
3. Quantitative Aptitude.
approximately 30-34 questions from each section will be asked in CAT.
Mathematics is very important to crack CAT. Mostly the basics of maths play a important role. So try to improve your skills in Mathematics too.
There are several books available for CAT Exam and even a lot of classes for the same. You have to choose the path that you want but your destination is the same, of scoring good marks in CAT, so I suggest you focus on that, by attending a counseling session. All the best!
