Nothing can be said about spot rounds as the seats in this round are very few 2-3, so even if 1 or 2 students with good gate score come to this spot round you chances are lost.
However you can still trust your luck and wait till spot round

I am currently studying in Kolkata.
And I did it without any coaching institute.
You need to be very focussed.
Read NCERT and solve previous year question.

Hello Ayan, even courses in IITs don't prepare you specifically for GATE, it is not like JEE coaching, they give you all the knowledge whatever is there in syllabus and then you have to practice and prepare for GATE by putting lot of your own efforts. And I don't think
