First and foremost, you should have full fledged with all chapters thoroughly by end of December 2017 by solving atleast 200 questions from each chapter through NCERT books and if possible by other coaching materials if you have jojned any.

I will suggest you that along with the daily newspaper reading's, you can also use apps like 'inshorts' & 'current affairs by testbook'.

You can also use 'Pearson's Concise GK Book' which is really a very good book to prepare for GK.

To improve general awareness for cmat what you can do is:
Read regular newspapers and download the gk apps in your phone to keep updated. There is no need for specific book for gk due to dynamism of cmat papers. Gk is basically dynamic not static in cmat.
