How to prepare chemistry for neet 2020 to score 140+ surely and how to revise 11th n 12th chemistry.

akshaevelin27_9770651 Student Expert 25th Aug, 2019

Hello aspirant,

Chemistry is the one subject which is liked by majority of medical aspirants after biology. To be one of the top rankers one should master atleast one subject either chemistry or physics to the fullest.Even if you are average in the third subject, you can still pile up a huge score.

So, here is the preparation strategy for chemistry-

PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY

  • Read NCERT- I recommend to atleast skim through the chapter if you are not able to read it fully.Solve the back exercises of these chapters atleast 3 times during the course of your preparation.
  • Have a strong grasp over concepts
  • Solve Questions- I used to solve questions from physical everytime i wished to revise it.Your bonding with chapters such as States of matter, Thermodynamics, Equilibrium, Solutions, Electrochemistry, Chemical kinetics will strengthen only when you solve lots of questions from them.
  • Books recommended- NCERT, Coaching notes/modules, any 1 reference book (Pradeep or ABC) for questions will suffice.

INORGANIC CHEMISTRY

  • Here NCERT wins the race.Hands down. You should read it as many times as possible especially the p-block chapter of class 12th.There are around 4–6 questions from this chapter in the main exam.
  • Learn the reactions of NCERT along with balancing- You may think that you will balance the reaction then and there, but considering the pressure during the exam it will be beneficial(saves time) if you are ready beforehand.
  • Give special emphasis to Co-ordination chemistry. This chapter alone usually comprises 3 to 5 questions.

ORGANIC CHEMISTRY

  • Here also i highly recommend NCERT and its exercises.
  • Write all the name reactions in a separate page and revise it regularly.
  • Be thorough with the mechanisms of the reactions.
  • Don’t forget to learn the chapters named polymers and chemistry in everyday life. These will easily gain you marks.
  • Books recommended:- NCERT, coaching modules/notes, Bhakta and Ghoshfor questions, OP Tandon. Any good teacher’s notes will be highly beneficial for organic especially for mechanisms.
  • Do lots of previous year questions of various exams to get a better view of types of questions which come.

    Hope this will be helpful...

Raji_49 Student Expert 25th Aug, 2019

Hi aspirant,

380 marks in neet is enough to obtain a seat in private medical colleges in state quota. If you want to do medicine in a good college you must score higher and update yourself everyday in all the concepts. Aim for 500 at least to score around 450 and be competitive to obtain a seat in one among the top medical colleges.

Hope this helps

ANPAM KUMAR Student Expert 25th Aug, 2019

Hey there

Each year the cutoff marks changes in general in general category you must score 580-590 to get a government medical seat in good medical Colleges. Some states like Karnataka has lower cutoff also but on an average you should score the mentioned marks minimum to get a medical seat.

Check about neet UG cutoff 2019

I am in last year of my graduation so what marks should I fill in CAT form total of 2 years or only 2nd year marks

akshaevelin27_9770651 Student Expert 25th Aug, 2019

Hello aspirant,

You have said that you are in the last year of graduation. So while filling in CAT form, you have to fill in your past 2 years marks. The second year mark alone will not be considered. So kindly enter your past 2 years marks in your CAT form instead of second year marks alone..

Hope this will be helpful...

I hve got 91 percentile in jee main 2019.i joined in private engineering college.i want to write jee mains for nxt year 2020.its managable??

Shivam Gautam 25th Aug, 2019
Hello Dear

Yeah you can write that ,NTA provides you the opportunity to write the entrance exam thrice a year and in once a year 2 times that means overall the JEE aspirants will have 6 attempts to write it. So yeah in your case you can also attempt in the next year in case if you got the good score then shift your respective college.
