Can a commerce student (english, economics, computer science , business studies , accounts) do BA computer science ?

Neha Kanwar 17th Jan, 2021

Hello,

Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science is a three year undergraduate program which focuses on the mathematical and theoretical foundation of computing rather than teaching specific technologies.

In ordet to be eligible to apply to this course, you are required to have passed Class 12 with minimum 50 percent marks or any other equivalent examination in any discipline from a recognized board.

So, yes you can take admission in this course even if you are from commerce stream. At the bachelor's level, you can do a diploma degree and through that you can have a chance of doing BTech.

Hope it helps.

Good Luck!

Im good in accounts and i have pursued maths in my 12th standard, so which course should i pursue that will help me out for my future?

Ronak Gala Student Expert 13th Jan, 2021

If you're good in accounts and also find interest in it, then the two most evergreen course options that you have is either pursue CHARTERED ACCOUNTANCY as your graduation or pursue MBA as your post graduation after completing graduation in some common field like BCOM, etc.

darshita 5th Dec, 2020

Hello,

If you are asking how you can be a school teacher then there are several routes leading towards a career in teaching depending on what type of teacher you want to become.

  • A high school pass with a nursery training certificate, diploma or degree is the basic requirement for nursery or primary school teaching.
  • The eligibility requirement for a Primary Teacher in a Government School is  Senior Secondary School certificate or Intermediate or its equivalent, and Bachelor of Elementary Education  (B.El.Ed.), or Diploma or certificate in basic teachers' training of not less than two years duration.
  • For senior you should be graduate or post graduate with B.Ed. For Post- Graduate teachers (PGT teachers) a Masters in the relevant subject is mandatory.
  • After Graduation or Post graduation or any teacher training certificates, one needs to clear CTET & TET

Hope this helps!!
