is there any scope in agriculture engineering

Kanupriya Gupta 19th Jan, 2020

Dear Aspirant,

We are in a world that is progressing in its way of civilisation, however the core shall always remain agriculture. With engineering studying the dynamic nature of the society, there is an urgent need to incorporate science, arts and occupational cultivation of the soil into a combined discipline that promotes crop rearing and high yield even in terms of the rearing of animals. This is where Agricultural engineering applies efficient technology for efficient production, food processing , fibre and fuel processing.

The subjects involved in this course are chemical engineering, plant biology, animal biology, mechanical engineering, civil engineering,

This field is known to be one of change both for an individuals life and even for the society. After doing a B.Tech in Agricultural engineering, many students prefer to do masters in the following:

a) M.Tech in Agricultural Engineering

b) PhD in Agri-informatics

c)M.Tech in Renewable Energy

d) M.Tech in Crop Production

e) M.Tech in Farm Machinery

f) PhD in Rural Technology

The engineers get employed for various jobs based on the extent of their qualifications. The government sector, the public sector organisation, the agribusiness firms, the retail industry, food processing . There is a lot of scope for research and work in laboratories too.

The following job titles are available for the engineer.

a) Agricultural Specialist/ Inspector/Crop Engineer

b) Microbiologist

c)Plant Physiologist

d) Agronomist

e) Soil Scientist

f) Survey Research Agricultural Engineer

Hope this helps ,All the best!

Is jee main mark is needed for agriculture engineering to join in TNAU?

Sonali Sahu Student Expert 3rd Nov, 2019
Hello,
It depends on the college what entrance exam it considers. If the college accepts any other entrance like state entrance for admission then you can appear for it and take an admission.
It's not mandatory you have to appear jee mains only. For any branch from engineering you have to appear an entrance exam. If you don't want to appear national entrance exam i.e. JEE then you can appear for state entrance exam. If you want to give any entrance of other states you will go under open category. For that the cutoff rank is really low.
So make a through research where you want to join and what exams you can give to get an admission.
Hope it helps you!

what is future of agriculture engineering and jobs? demand in Private sector?

rehan18alam Student Expert 29th Oct, 2019

Dear Aspirant,

Agriculture engineering, of all engineering branches, is the only branch with data showing an increase of 5% annually in their jobs. While most of the core engineering jobs are decreasing day by day, demand is rising by 5% annually.

This is because of the increase in demands of engineers for solving the current problems in the field of engineering as well as how to co-op with the adverse climate conditions.

This lead to an increase in the demand, which is projected to go upwards in future. Hence career in agriculture engineering is a good choice to make.

Hope this helps. Thank you.
