Ambedkar University Delhi
Hello
I'll list some parameters of both the colleges :-
Recognition-
Delhi University is a central university that has colleges established even prior to independence. It is an open campus established across different regions of the NCR.
Ambedkar University has been established in 2008 by the State Government of Delhi. Despite this, it has made a significant name for itself. It is located at Kashmere gate, Lodhi Road and Karampura currently and is having various other campuses under construction.
Infrastructure-
Delhi University is known to have a beautiful infrastructure, I have been fortunate to study in Miranda House which is known for it’s infrastructure. It’s not just beautiful but also differently able friendly.
Ambedkar University is currently developing it’s infrastructure. It also has a differently abled friendly infrastructure.
Courses-
Delhi University offers various courses, which are being offered by multiple colleges. Though the curriculum is the same across colleges.
Ambedkar University offers unconventional courses such as social design, vocational courses. The student teacher ratio is very good, and the faculty can customise the course.
Evaluation-
Delhi University has a semester based examination pattern. Thus, a three year course would have six examinations. There are also internals that take place across the semester.
Ambedkar University has no specific evaluation schedule. Faculty can decide when and how to conduct examinations. The examination is continuous in nature. I recall having online stimulation exercises for my final examination. The university is highly critical of plagiarism.
Administration -
Delhi university by nature has multiple divisions in administration, every college having its own administrative division. With reference to my personal experience only, I have faced no issues in dealing with the administration, but I have come across cases where people do face issues.
Ambedkar University has specific administration for each school. The staff is very friendly and goes out of their way to provide help to students.
Fees-
Being a government university both of them have nominal fees. They also offer fee waivers.
I did my B.A (hons) from DU and the fee for the entire course was 24,000.
From Ambedkar University, I did my MBA and the fee was 2,40,000.
Also, I received scholarships every semester during my MBA. I am not aware of such policies in Delhi University.
Hope it helps
Thank you
